Description
Mains Of Daviot Farm is a large two-storey farm building dating from around 1820, with its main elevation facing east. The structure is constructed from tooled, coursed rubble and features tooled ashlar dressings. The main frontage has nine bays and includes shallow segmental headed arched entrances to an inner court in the outer and central bays, with three-bay dwellings in between, each having a central door. A large glazed porch covers the northeast dwelling entrance, and the windows on the frontage have four-pane glazing.
On the west elevation, there is a large range of cart bays that function as a lean-to shelter, supported by circular rubble piers. The inner court contains paired sheep-folds along with former stables and byres. The building has symmetrical ridge and end stacks and a piended slate roof. Additionally, an octagonal horse engine house is attached to the south elevation, featuring a piended corrugated roof.
