Description
Raigmore Tower is an early 19th century, octagonal, two-storey Gothic gazebo or tower. Originally standing within the grounds of Raigmore House (now demolished), the tower now has modern single-storey wings built around it, which together form a dwelling house – the modern additions are not included in the listing. The tower itself is harled, with contrasting painted detailing. It features a crenellated wallhead rising from a corbel table. There are three pointed-headed windows on the north and west faces, each with intersecting glazing in the upper lights of the sash windows. The ground floor fenestration is modern. The tower benefits from a commanding view over Inverness and the surrounding area.
