Description
The site comprises the ruins of Farnaway Church and its surrounding graveyard, located in Kirkton. The enclosure is constructed of high rubble walls with a round-headed entrance, topped with a roughly tooled rubble cope. The graveyard contains a selection of interesting tombstones dating from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. The site represents the location of the former parish church of Farnua. This church was later combined with the parish of Wardlaw to form the parish of Kirkhill. The statutory address of the site is Kirton Burial Ground.
