Description
97-101 Trongate in Glasgow is a four-storey warehouse designed by architect J T Rochead in 1849. The building features polished painted ashlar and classical details. It has six regular bays facing Trongate and four bays on King Street, with an angled bay at the corner that includes the entrance on the ground floor. The ground floor has modern shopfronts, while all the windows are single light, sash and case with plate-glass glazing, and have pilastered reveals. Each floor is topped with a cornice. The building is crowned with a balustraded parapet that has a partly pierced ashlar balustrade, featuring cornucopia details on either side and a Glasgow tree at the angle.
