100-104 Trongate, Glasgow

100-104 Trongate in Glasgow is a building designed by George Bell between 1894 and 1897. Originally built as warehousing with a former Bank of Scotland on the ground floor, it features Renaissance architectural details. The structure has four storeys and an attic, with three bays facing Trongate and five bays facing Candleriggs, including a curved two-window angle bay.

The building is constructed of ashlar stone and has a thin pilastered elevation at the former bank entrance, which is located at the angle and features a round-arched head with a hood supported by consoles. There is an additional pedimented door on the Trongate side. Each floor is separated by an entablature, and the windows are recessed behind pilasters and engaged columns, with Roman Doric columns on the first floor, Ionic columns on the second, and Corinthian columns on the third. All windows are single light sash and case with plate-glass glazing. The tall parapet is interrupted by pedimented dormers, with three light dormers facing Candleriggs and two light dormers facing Trongate. The outer two bays on Candleriggs are recessed, and the outer bay on Trongate is also recessed.
