Description
The statue of Sir Robert Peel, located in George Square, Glasgow, was created by John Mossman in 1859. This bronze statue commemorates the former British Prime Minister and is set on a square granite base and pedestal. The front of the pedestal features the name "Sir Robert Peel" incised into the stone, while the rear provides the information "Born July 2 1788, Died July 5 1850." The statue was cast by the foundry Robinson and Cottam, and the initials "J Mossman" are incised on the plinth.
