Description

The Statue of James Watt, located in George Square, Glasgow, was created by Francis Chantrey in 1832. This seated bronze statue depicts James Watt, who lived from 1736 to 1819. The statue is set on an elliptical granite pedestal with a square base. In the sculpture, Watt is shown holding a pair of dividers and a map.
