Description

Queen's Park Station, located on Victoria Road in Glasgow, was built in 1886 for the Caledonian Railway and is situated on the southern part of the Cathcart circle. This free-standing station is positioned on an island platform and is one of a series of similar buildings, although only a few of these now remain, with another example at Maxwell Park that is not identical. The station features a long single-storey block with a shallow plan. Its main roof is slated and extends down to create a deep, continuous glazed and bracketed canopy. The structure has a timber frame and is extensively glazed, with ridging tiles and stacks.
