74 Brunswick Street, Glasgow

74 Brunswick Street is an office block built in the 1930s by James M Monro & Son. This six-storey building is located at the corner of Brunswick Street and Wilson Street, featuring a five-bay elevation facing Brunswick Street and a three-bay elevation on Wilson Street.

The exterior is made of polished red sandstone, which is channelled at the ground and first floors. The ground floor includes shop fronts, with the main entrance located at the center of the Brunswick Street elevation and an additional goods entrance at the extreme right. There are incised metal bands above the ground floor windows and a cornice above the first floor. Giant pilaster strips with plain incised caps rise from the second floor to separate the bays.

All windows are of equal size, metal framed, and have eight-pane glazing. Between each floor, there are bands of incised sandstone, and the building features an eaves cornice. Above each pilaster strip, there are die piers with a linking balustrade of iron railings leading to a block pediment over the central bays.
