Description
217-219 Hope Street in Glasgow are two terrace houses built around 1830, each with two storeys and a basement. The houses feature polished ashlar stonework, with a rusticated basement on No 225. The right-hand entrances are framed with architraves, pediments, and cornices, and the doorways are recessed at the top of steps. The windows are sash and case style, set within architraves, with cornices on the ground floor. No 225 has a ground floor cill band, while both houses have a continuous cill band on the first floor. The eaves are finished with a cornice and a blocking course, and the houses have a slate roof with axial stacks that have been rebuilt.
