Description
70-82 West Regent Street in Glasgow consists of two classical terraced houses built around 1820-1823, which have been altered for commercial use. The buildings are broadly symmetrical in relation to the structures opposite and feature three storeys and a basement, although the basement has been altered. The facade has ten bays arranged in a 5-5 slope. Each of the three doorways is adorned with consoled, corniced doorpieces that extend over the steps leading to the basement. The windows are sash and case style, with corbelled, architraved, and corniced features on the ground floor, while the first floor windows are simply architraved. The buildings have an eaves cornice and a parapet with central wallhead stacks for each section. Additionally, there are cast-iron boundary railings surrounding the property.
