Description
24, 26, and 28 Walls Street in Glasgow are former gas offices and workshops that were built between 1878 and 1888. They have been converted for domestic use and feature a classically detailed astylar design. The building is two storeys high with an attic floor and consists of 13 bays. The exterior is finished in painted ashlar, with channeling at the ground level.
The central bay includes a round-arched pend, which is now partly blocked and has been converted into a three-light window. There is a tripartite window on the first floor, while the other windows are single-light, with those on the first floor being margined and corniced. All windows are modern sash and case with plate-glass glazing. The attic storey has small semi-circular windows. There is a band course above the ground floor and at the cills of the first and attic storeys. The building features an eaves band and cornice, with slate roofs.
