Description
32 Walls Street in Glasgow is a three-storey classical building constructed between 1878 and 1888, originally designed as offices and workshops, but now converted into housing. The building features a seven-bay elevation facing Walls Street and a five-bay elevation on Blackfriars Street. The exterior is finished in painted ashlar with a channelled design at the ground level.
On the Walls Street side, there is a round-arched pend to the right and a pilastered corniced doorpiece to the left, which includes a door with a fanlight above it. All the windows are single light, sash and case style with plate-glass glazing. The first-floor windows are framed with architraves and cornices, and there is a moulded cill band at the first and second eaves cornice. The roofs are covered with slate.
The Blackfriars Street elevation is similarly detailed to that of Walls Street.
