Description

154-158 Hope Street in Glasgow is a classical tenement building dating from around 1835. It stands four stories tall and features modern shops on the ground floor, arranged in three groups of four bays. The building is constructed of polished ashlar stone, with a droved ashlar return elevation. The windows are sash and case, primarily with 12-pane glazing, and there are cornices at the first and second floors facing Hope Street. The ground floor has a mutule cornice, while the second floor includes a cill band. The building is topped with an eaves cornice and a blocking course, and there is a scrolled, corniced wallhead stack visible from Hope Street.
