Description

This is a river bridge built around 1919, located on Kelvin Way in Glasgow. It features four symmetrically placed bronze figure sculptures that represent Philosophy, Inspiration, Shipbuilding, and Industry, created by Paul Montford in 1918. The bridge was damaged during the war and was restored by Benno Schotz in 1951. It has a single span that is faced with ashlar stone and includes rusticated quoins and deep channelled piers that project forward. The parapet is designed with curving wing walls.
