52 Rose Street, Glasgow

56 Rose Street in Glasgow is a four-storey tenement building dating from around 1843. It features a polished ashlar facade and has a plinth. The windows are all sash and case, set within architraves, and primarily have 12-pane glazing.

On the elevation facing Rose Street, the bays are arranged in a stepped slope, with the central three bays of the southern section advanced. The second bay from the north is blind. There are block pedimented close entrances at Nos 52 and 56. A cornice band runs along the ground floor, and the first-floor windows in the eastern section and the central three bays of the southern section are pedimented with consoles. The main cornice and blocking course are present, along with a reduced wallhead stack and end stacks.

The elevation facing Buccleuch Street features a central block with a pedimented close entrance. The first bay from the west is blind, and the third bay from the north is blind at the upper floors. The detailing on this elevation mirrors that of the Rose Street elevation, particularly in the northern section.
