Golfhill Primary School, 1 Circus Drive, Glasgow

Golfhill Primary School, located at 1 Circus Drive in Glasgow, was designed by A N Paterson and built between 1902 and 1903. This tall three-storey board school is constructed from bull-faced red ashlar stone, featuring polished dressings and string courses that separate the floors. The front elevation is symmetrical, with a central range that includes pilasters on the first floor, decorative lettering, outer doors at the ground level, and arched window heads. The flanking outshots also have entrances and are adorned with engaged octagonal turrets. At the rear, there are large mullioned and transomed windows. Additionally, there is a narrow gabled two-storey janitor's lodge, which has a circular turret topped with a domed empty cupola. The school is enclosed by low ashlar walls complemented by decorative wrought-iron railings.
