Victoria Cross Buildings, 401, 403, 405 Victoria Road, Glasgow

The Victoria Cross Buildings, located at 407, 409, and 411 Victoria Road in Glasgow, date from the later 19th century. This four-storey corner tenement features an iron-crested French roof and polygonal corner bays. The ground floor accommodates shops, while the upper levels are finished in stone-cleaned yellow ashlar. Each elevation has five single window bays, with an additional canted bay facing Victoria Road. The windows on the first and second floors are corniced and fitted with plate glass sashes, supported by richly sculptured consoles on the first floor and a bracketed main cornice. The building has a rebuilt wall-head and axial stacks, topped with slate roofs.
