Bridgeton Cross Mansions, 22-26 Dalmarnock Road, Bridgeton, Glasgow

Bridgeton Cross Mansions, located at 22-26 Dalmarnock Road in Bridgeton, Glasgow, was designed by John Cunningham in 1896. This four-storey tenement features classical detailing and is constructed from red ashlar stone. It includes ground floor shops and is prominently positioned on a corner site, showcasing a distinctive bowed corner and a long elevation along Dalmarnock Road.

The building is finished with stone-cleaned sandstone ashlar and has corniced shops, some featuring decorative consoles. Notable architectural elements include a cill course at the third floor, a corniced eaves lintel course, and a blocking course. The windows are adorned with aedicules, featuring semicircular and triangular pediments and cornices on the first and second floors. The window styles include stone-mullioned bipartite, canted tripartite, and bowed quadripartite designs.

The prominent bowed corner is highlighted by quadripartite windows above the ground floor, leading to a frieze inscribed with 'BRIDGETON CROSS MANSIONS' and a curved pediment flanked by chimney dies and decorative brackets. The roof is slated and features a conical shape with an ornamental ogee dome and decorative ironwork finial. The northeast elevation along Dalmarnock Street has full-height canted window bays that are regularly spaced. The main street elevation to the west consists of a short range of five bays above ground, with a full-height canted window closing the outer right bay.

The windows predominantly feature plate glass glazing set in timber sash and case frames, and the building is topped with coped ashlar stacks.
