Description
7, 9, 11 Dalmarnock Road is a four-storey tenement building designed by James Thomson around 1871. It features a largely symmetrical, 16-bay classical style and is located on a prominent corner site, characterized by curved corner bays. The ground floor has been altered for offices and shops. The building is constructed from sandstone ashlar with raised margins, and it includes a cornice at the ground level, cill courses, and a cornice with a curved parapet at the corner, which is inscribed with "BRIDGETON CROSS."
The windows above the ground floor are architraved, with those on the first floor featuring cornices. The central six bays are slightly advanced and include scrolled consoles. The building predominantly has non-traditional tilt and turn windows, with some being made of timber. There are also cut-down wallhead stacks.
