Description
This building, located at 1281 London Road in Glasgow, dates back to 1900 and is a four-storey corner tenement designed in the Glasgow Style. It features a prominent five-light turreted corner bay topped with a leaded ogee cupola and a spire finial. The ground floor accommodates a public house and shops, while the exterior is finished in polished red ashlar.
A cill course is present at the third floor, and the outermost bays are shallowly canted, showcasing four-light windows. The raised parapets are adorned with a diamond motif. Some of the window bays are bipartite and include corbelled balconies with decorative cast iron railings on the second floor, which are topped with round arched pediments that break the eaves. The windows are stone mullioned and feature a six-pane over plate glass glazing pattern in horned timber sash and case style. The roof is slate, with coped stacks that have clay cans, and there are cast iron rainwater goods.
