Description
The Summer House in Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline, was built in 1906. It has an octagonal plan and is an open-sided rustic Chinese-style structure. The base is made of rubble and is built into the sloping land. Upright timber poles, which are braced at the apex, support an octagonal conical roof that is splayed at the base. The original thatched roof has been replaced with asphalt.
