West Lodge, Elie House

West Lodge, part of Elie House, is a picturesque, single-story lodge dating to the later 19th century. It is built of droved ashlar with polished dressings, arranged in an L-plan. The entrance is located in the re-entrant angle and is accessed via a later, canted porch. A projecting wing to the south features an open wooden arcaded verandah with a latticed balustrade, topped by a jerkin-headed gable. The roof has broad eaves and is covered in slate, with corniced ashlar stacks at the ridges.

A pair of earlier 19th-century gate piers form a gateway. These are broad, rectangular piers with a cornice and blocking courses, pierced by segmental-headed arched pedestrian entries. Convex quadrant die walls connect these to square, droved ashlar terminal piers. The original railings and gates have been removed.
