Description
26-30 Bridge Street in Dunfermline is an early 19th-century terraced tenement block that has undergone some alterations. The building is two stories high with an attic and features five bays. The principal (south) elevation is made of coursed droved painted sandstone with ashlar dressings. It has a moulded cornice and an eaves band. The first floor has architraved windows, while the attic showcases polygonal piended dormers.
On the south elevation, there is a basket-arched keyblocked vennel entrance on the outer left. The ground floor to the right has a continuously-glazed aluminium-framed shopfront, which includes a recessed entrance with a glazed door on the outer right. The first floor contains five windows arranged in a 1-2-2 grouping, and there are three dormers in the attic.
The upper floors feature 2-pane timber sash and case windows, with the upper pane subdivided in the dormers. The ground floor has a full-height continuously-glazed aluminium-framed shop window. The roof is covered with grey slate, and there is a rendered corniced ridge stack at the west end, along with round cans.
