Description
Spittal House is a single storey and attic semi-detached former weaver's cottage built in 1829. It features a four-bay street elevation and is constructed from snecked and roughly coursed whinstone rubble, accented with lighter droved long and short sandstone quoins and margins. The cottage has a door located in the bay to the right of the center, with two windows to the left and one window to the right. The openings are chamfered, and there is an eaves course along with grey slates and ashlar-coped skews. The chimney stacks are also coped with ashlar and feature thackstanes. The windows are timber sash and case with plate glass glazing. The interior was modernised as of 2009.
