Description
Rose Cottage in Collessie is a group of three late 18th century weavers' cottages that have been combined into one property. The building is single storey, harled, and whitewashed, featuring painted margins. The central section has two windows and a door in the middle, while the section to the right includes a single storey wing that extends at a right angle. This wing has a hipped slated roof with a single chimney stack.
The left gable end is returned and features wooden barge boards. There is a sundial on the rear skew end, which has an ogival head and an acorn finial, and is dated 1772. The roof is thatched, and the skews are also thatched. The property retains mainly original glazing and has a small walled forecourt that faces the road.
