Description
The south and west wall of Collessie Parish Church, dated 1609, is constructed from whin rubble and serves as a retaining wall around the southern part of the churchyard. It features an ashlar mural monument that includes a cornice, half-round pilasters, and an inset panel. The inscription on the monument denounces the Roman Catholic practice of burial within church buildings. Below this, there is a medieval stone with a badly weathered figure under an arch. An elevated path leads south from the churchyard gates to the nearby cottages, Lomond View and Braehead. The wall and gates that face the road are also included in this description.
