16-18 Doctor's Row, Kirkcaldy

4 Doctor's Row in Kirkcaldy is a short terrace of seven houses, dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. These two-storey buildings, which may have originally been single-storey, feature pantiled roofs. The southern elevations of Nos 4, 6, and 10 are constructed of coursed stone over random rubble, while No 4 has cement render and No 10 has dry dash; all have random rubble on the northern side. The buildings have raised stone margins, an eaves lintel course, a quoin strip on the northwest corner, and droved quoins on the southeast and southwest corners.

On the southern (entrance) elevation, No 14 has a timber door at the center of the ground floor, with a window in the bay to the left and a small window to the right, plus two windows on the first floor. No 12 features two doors at the center, windows in the flanking bays, and three windows on the first floor. No 10 has a part-glazed timber door in the bay to the right, a small window at the center, and another window to the left, along with two windows on the first floor. No 12 again has two boarded timber doors to the right, a window to the left, and two windows on the first floor. No 4 has windows in the outer bays at ground level, a forestair from the right leading to a central door on the first floor, and windows in the flanking bays.

The northern (School Lane) elevation features a variety of openings, including a large garage door for No 4. The eastern (Rosslyn Street) elevation is mostly blank, with a window to the left of center on the first floor. The western elevation is also blank.

Timber sash and case windows are present on the first floor of Nos 4 and 6, while No 14 has top-opening timber windows; most other openings are blocked. The roofs are covered with pantiles and slate easing courses on No 10, with a small section of corrugated iron on No 4. Coped ashlar stacks are found on Nos 6/10, 10/12, and 14, while Nos 4 and 16/18 have coped brick stacks, with some clay cans. No 4 features ashlar coped skews with moulded skewputts and thackstanes.
