Description
The Old Free Church, located on Main Road in Arncroach, was built between 1844 and 1845 and later renovated and converted into a hall in 1955 by architect L A Rolland of Leven. The building has a rectangular plan and is harled. It features a projecting skew-gabled porch on the east gable and along the long south wall, both with shouldered openings. The south wall has three canted-headed windows, while the north wall has two and the east gable has two pointed-headed windows, all fitted with lattice glazing. There are also some smaller window openings. A corbelled and finialled bellcote with shouldered openings is situated over the east gable. The roof is slate, and the church is partly enclosed by a rubble-built wall that includes corniced, droved ashlar diamond-plan gatepiers.
