Description
The Stable Block at Dreel House was designed by architect John Milne and constructed between 1857 and 1858. This two-storey building features three bays and is built from rubble with ashlar dressings and rusticated quoins.
The central porch is supported by Roman Doric columns and projects forward, while above it is a segmental-headed window on the first floor. The ground floor has canted windows, and the outer bays contain bipartite windows with lying-pane glazing. The structure is topped with a cornice and blocking course, and it has corniced end stacks along with a piended slate roof.
To the east, there is a single-storey and loft former stable block, also constructed from rubble with ashlar margins. This section includes a segmental-headed carriage entrance on the left and a door with flanking windows to the right, which is situated below a swept-roofed loft opening and a triangular dovecot. The stable block features straight skews and a slate roof.
