Description

6 Gateside is an 18th-century, two-storey, six-bay terraced pair of houses with single-storey additions. The exterior is harled with stone margins and features stone mullions.

On the south elevation, No. 6 is to the east and is larger. It has a central door with evidence of an obliterated sign that may have read "Coffee House" above it. There are bipartite windows in the bay to the right on both floors, and a window in the bay to the left of centre with another bipartite window above.

No. 7, to the west, has a two-leaf boarded timber door to the right with a window to the left, and a further window that is out of line at the first floor.

The east elevation features a two-storey gable end with a swept roof to the right over a single-storey bay. There is a window off centre to the right, a part-glazed timber door to the outer right, and a "Coffee House" sign at the centre of the first floor.

The north elevation shows irregular fenestration on the single-storey addition, which is neatly incorporated under a catslide roof.

The interior is currently derelict but retains decorative cast iron fireplaces. The windows have an 8-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case style. The roofs are covered with traditional pantiles, and there are coped, harled stacks with cans and thackstanes, along with ashlar coped skews featuring scroll skewputts.

The boundary wall is made of random rubble and is coped.
