Description
The Dovecot at Melville House dates back to the 1770s. It features circular walls made of rubble that taper towards the top and has a lean-to slate roof with crowstepped curved sides. Inside, there is a vaulted chamber. The upper opening is made of dressed freestone and includes a chamfered doorway, but it does not have perches or flight holes. It is said to still contain nesting boxes and a potence.
