Description

Fordell Castle is a fortified house dated 1580, designed in an oblong shape and rising four storeys high. It features stair-wings at the northwest and southeast corners, along with corbelled turrets at the northeast and southwest corners. The structure is built of rubble with a slated roof. The entrance has lintels inscribed with the date and the monogram 'I.H.'. The first storey contains three vaulted chambers and a passage, while each upper storey includes two rooms that are 'en suite'.
