Description

Careston Castle is a four-storey tower house featuring a vaulted basement and projecting wings. It may date back to the late 16th century, although it has undergone significant alterations in later periods. The south frontage displays an armorial stone dated 1714. Inside, there are impressive features including carved chimney pieces, a painted ceiling, and a private chapel that contains a communion chair and table from 1623.
