Description
Pigscarve Cottage, also known as Keeper’s Cottage, is a late 18th and mid-19th century single-storey cottage located on The Wynd in Kilmany. The cottage was originally five bays wide, although the two bays to the left were added in the 19th century. It is constructed of whin rubble with sandstone dressings, and features a door in the fourth bay. There is a former doorway, now filled with rubble, in the second bay. A flat-roofed outshot extends to the rear.
The windows are timber sash and case with 8-pane glazing. The roof is covered in pantiles, with ashlar skews. There are three coped chimney stacks, each topped with clay cans. The cottage was re-categorised as a building of Group Value from a building of local merit in 2006, and the statutory address and listed building record were updated in 2013. It was previously listed as "The Wynd (Lord Kilmany - Formerly Occupied By Stalker, Empty In 1969) Kilmany".
