Description
This is a late 18th and mid 19th century cottage located on The Wynd in Kilmany. It is a single-storey building, originally comprising five bays, though the two bays to the left were added in the 19th century. The walls are constructed of whin rubble with sandstone dressings. A doorway is situated in the fourth bay. There is a former doorway, now filled with rubble, in the second bay. A flat-roofed projection extends from the rear of the cottage.
The windows are timber sash and case style with eight panes of glazing. The roof is covered in pantiles, and features ashlar skew stones. There are three coped chimney stacks topped with clay cans.
In 2006, the cottage was re-categorized as a building of Group Value (Grade C). The statutory address is Keeper’s Cottage, The Wynd, Kilmany. It was previously listed under a different name and address referencing Lord Kilmany and a former occupant, a Stalker.
