Description
This milestone, dated 1824, was constructed by Alex Russell, an ironfounder from Kirkcaldy. It is part of the Pettycur and Newport Passage road series. The milestone features a bow-fronted plate with a curvilinear top edge. It is painted white with black italic letters in relief, displaying the distances to Pettycur (30), New Inn (17), Cupar (8), and Newport (3) miles. The statutory address is Milestone at Pickletillem.
