Description

This milestone, dated 1824, was constructed by Alex Russell, an ironfounder from Kirkcaldy. It is part of the Pettycur and Newport Passage road series. The milestone features a bow-fronted plate with a curvilinear top edge. It is painted white with black italic letters in relief, displaying the distances to Pettycur (30), New Inn (17), Cupar (8), and Newport (3) miles.
