Description
Rockmount is a picturesque villa dating from the mid-19th century, built in an H-shaped plan. It is a two-storey building with an attic, constructed of snecked, stugged ashlar and finished with a gabled slate roof and projecting eaves. The main entrance is located within a projecting gabled porch on the west side. The south front features advanced gabled wings on either side, with a canted bay window to the left and a square bay window to the right, both incorporating three-light windows. A connecting link wing has two gabled dormers in the attic and two single windows on the ground floor; the window to the right has been lengthened to form a French window. Tall ashlar chimney stacks are present, each featuring a plinth and cornice. A small, single-storey addition to the rear, built using roughcast, has been added. The property is not shown on the 1856 Ordnance Survey map.
