Description
Dated 1834, this building comprises a single-story, four-bay school and a single-story-with-attic, three-bay schoolhouse attached to it. It is constructed of coursed, squared whin rubble with contrasting long and short ashlar dressings. The school features an off-center gabled porch with a door set in the re-entrant angle, and it has 30-pane sash windows. The schoolhouse has a centrally positioned recessed panelled door with a rectangular fanlight above. A new opening has been inserted to the right of the door, and the outer bays of the ground floor have 12-pane sashes, while the inner bays have 9-pane sashes with gabled dormer-heads above. The roof is slated, with corniced end stacks, and straight skews. Two axial roof vents are present over the school.
