Description
The Town Wall, located along a Roman road, dates from the later 16th century with 19th century additions. It consists of a fragment of a boundary wall made of coped and stepped random rubble, measuring approximately 35 metres long. The lower section of the wall reveals early fabric from the original town wall. Additionally, there is a carved marriage lintel inscribed "W B 1618 I B" that has been incorporated into the 19th century repairs on the upper two thirds of the structure.
