Farmhouse, Broombrae Farm

Broombrae Farm is a farmhouse built around 1840. It is a two-storey, four-bay structure situated on a slope, featuring a raised basement at the front. The building is constructed from coursed, squared whinstone, accented with contrasting yellow long and short ashlar dressings.

On the south elevation, there is an off-centre, gabled ashlar porch with a door located in the re-entrant angle, which is accessed by steps. The windows throughout the farmhouse are lying-pane sashes, specifically 12-pane sashes.

The roof has straight skews and corniced end stacks, and it is covered with slate. To the east, there is a low office wing, while to the north, there are two single-storey projections with piend roofs. The north elevation features a tall off-centre stair window, with the outer bays originally having 12-pane sashes, although one has been replaced with plate glass.
