Description

Old and St Michael of Tarvit Parish Church, located on Kirkgate in Cupar, dates back to 1415. The church features three bays in the north aisle of the nave, supported by cylindrical and hexagonal piers. It has a northwest tower measuring 18 feet by 22.5 feet and standing 69 feet high. The top stage of the tower was rebuilt, and in 1620, Rev. William Scott added an elongated broach spire, which reaches 44 feet, along with a parapet adorned with Renaissance balusters. The church underwent repairs by mason John Dawson in 1806.
