United College of St Salvator and St Leonard, North Street, St Andrews

The United College of St Salvator and St Leonard, located on North Street in St Andrews, is a two-storey building constructed between 1829 and 1831 by architect Robert Reid. It is designed in a Jacobean style, featuring ashlar stone and a slate roof, with a semi-elliptically arched porch. The building was extended in 1905 by architects Gillespie and Scott, maintaining the same architectural style. The north side of the college was added between 1845 and 1846 by architect William Nixon, who incorporated similar stylistic elements but with more refined details, including a Roman Doric columned doorpiece. Additionally, screen walls to the west and Butts Wynd were built at the same time, while the northern boundary wall to Scores and Butts Wynd dates back to the 15th century.
