Description
71 North Street in St Andrews is a three-storey building with an L-shaped plan, constructed from rubble and slate. Its origins date back to the 15th century, with notable architectural features added in the 16th and 17th centuries. The west gable is adorned with a stone spired roundel and gableted crowsteps. The front wall facing the street was built in 1790, and there were additions made in 1912 by architect David Henry. The wrought iron railings and gate were designed by architect Reginald Fairlie. The east gable was rebuilt in 1971.
