Description

These are late 18th-century gate piers, originally located at Airdrie in Crail Parish. They were re-erected at Charleton circa 1920 as commemorative gates. The piers are rusticated, decorated with fret bands, swagged friezes, and have flaming urn finials, closely resembling the pair that remain at Airdrie.
