Description
The St Andrews University Rugby Football Club Stand, designed by J Young in 1934, is a symmetrical sports stand located to the west of the University Playing Fields. It features distinctive oculi detailing and has a flat-roofed, projecting tiered seating area made of boarded timber, supported by narrow iron columns. The sides are part-glazed and harled, with splayed edges, and there is a moulded eaves cornice. At the center, a timber pediment displays the university crest. In front of the iron columns, there is a low red brick wall with semicircular coping. The rear wall includes a series of five blind oculi openings with raised surrounds. Additionally, there is a narrow store with a harled red tile piend roof attached to the rear.
