Description
Lundin Tower is a late 16th and early 17th century tower house, significantly altered in later centuries. Constructed of rubble, the tower is a six-stage stair tower, but incorporates chambers on the two upper floors. Only the stairs within the eastern turret, leading to the upper floors, are original. The tower is topped with a parapet and features crenellated angle turrets at the south-east and south-west corners, corbelled at the upper floors. A variety of openings are present, reflecting different dates of construction and alteration, including a Y-traceried window in the uppermost chamber. A single-storey, polygonal projection to the south features ogee-headed openings and a crenellated parapet dating to the 19th century. The tower was formerly part of Old Lundin House, which was demolished in 1876.
