Description
This is an 18th-century dovecot, located within the grounds of Lundin Tower. It is an unusual and picturesque example of Gothic architecture. The dovecot is constructed of thinly harled rubble with large sandstone dressings. The south elevation features a central pointed arch doorway and two blind, pointed arch windows. An eaves course runs along the top of the walls. The gables have Y-traceried windows, and there are two flight holes. The rear elevation incorporates a blocked door, a small square window, and two circular openings. The roof is slate-covered, with crowstepped gables and mock gable end stacks which conceal additional flight holes. A central ventilator and a row of flight holes are set into the south roof slope. The building remains in residential use.
