Description

These are two 18th-century cottages renovated and adjoining a smithy at Both Lord Kilmany's. The smithy itself has two windows and a central door, constructed of whin rubble and covered with pantiles. It houses a fine collection of smithy equipment. The eastern cottage is single-storey with an attic, and has a harled exterior and pantile roof. It features glazing from around 1830 at ground floor level, with modern two-light, twelve-pane dormers above. The western cottage is single-storey, with a harled exterior and pantile roof, and a front elevation containing two two-light, twelve-pane windows and a central door. The cottages are of group value alongside the smithy.
