Description

Letham Lands is a farmhouse built in the later 18th century. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure with a single-storey, single-bay west wing and an adjoining stable to the east. The south elevation is entirely pebbledashed with painted margins, while the rest of the building is constructed from rubble. The house features a central door located behind a gabled timber porch and has sash windows with 12 panes on the first floor. The roof has straight skews and coped end stacks. The west wing has been altered to create a bipartite design, and the stable has no openings on its south wall, with a door and flanking windows on the north elevation. The roofs are covered with pantiles, and there is a slate easing course on both the house and the west wing. The single-storey wing extends northwards and includes a segmental-headed cart opening in the gable. To the north, there are two rectangular-plan, single-storey rubble-built steading blocks set at right angles, forming a courtyard. These blocks feature an enlarged rectangular opening and four blocked windows facing the courtyard. An octagonal horse-mill is located to the north, with pantile roofs that are faceted over the horse-mill. Additionally, there is a former byre to the northeast of the house, which has a corrugated asbestos roof.
